Spring better arrive soon! In the hope to speed along the sunshine and long days – I’ve been getting on with the sewing and created a few ‘newbies’. One of them being the newly striped union jack purse. Although the union jack idea is not new to Lady Joon – the striped version is fresh and has already attracted attention from Etsy bloggers.
How lovely is it to see all the autumn colours out? Yes, I know its getting chillier but it is also so pretty in the autumn with all the leaves whisping around. Inspired by this is my autumn purse on a custard-yellow hand dyed cotton. “It was one of those perfect English autumnal days which occur more frequently in memory than in life.” P. D. James
Today’s purse is following on from yesterday’s style, although today’s Palm Purse is smaller (100mm wide x 100mm high including the clasp). The pineapple’s on the fabric look great and give the purse a touch of old style colonial twist. The left hand side has a streak of cream ribbon running down the edge to give it a little bit of special detail.
Inspired by Alice in the Wonderland which came out at the movies a couple of months ago, here is the Cuppa Tea purse. The red teapot and cup looks great on the dark blue leather and has a very bright red satin lining.
